Okay, so we lied a little. The Arolos and Dark Fort BoD remains unbribable - and Vicky will continue to check Laura's pockets regularly to ensure this remains the case. Remember kids, the only way to earn special abilities and rank at Arolos and Dark Fort is through good writing and lots of plotting. So, there'll be no trips around the world, no Alienware laptops, and no Macbook Pro's. Woe. These are sad, sad things. However, although we won't take your money, as you're here and already have your wallets out, we'd like to draw your attention to a few people who will. We're aware that we at Arolos are lucky, lucky people. We have computers, we have internet access, and we have the literacy skills to allow us to play around and post. Forget the whining about workload and suchlike - life is pretty great for us really ;-) However, we are aware that there are people in the world who just don't have that sort of luck. People who don't have the opportunity to learn to read, kids who never get exposed to enough books. So, if you had your wallet out ready to buy yourself some mood-changing eyes, or a gold dragon, think about flicking through the links below and giving a couple of dollars, or donating some old books to the charities below. We've picked out a variety of places, from places supplying books to kids, to places helping adults with literacy, to the group helping rebuild the New Orleans library. Most of them are fairly small groups - and in a small group, that $2 *does* make a difference. So, if you can and you're willing, send some old books or a couple of pounds or dollars their way. Who knows - the people you help learn to read today might well be Arolos or Dark Fort members tomorrow!
