Morningstar Marauders Clutch - Food Adverts
Hatching Spring 2005
Pern date 8.12.10.04
Tainted Water Egg
Blue Zupeth - Phylyp
There's a dragon in the clutch to never tangle with. It's not that he's a particularly tough blue, no. Zupeth is a spiteful blue. Amazingly, mind-blowingly spiteful. And not in tiny ways. Give the little guy a bit of Firestone, and if you've crossed him, he'd feel pretty comfortable giving a spurt of fire at your ass. He's not an *evil* dragon. Zupeth is happy and upbeat and grins like hell if his rider happens to say, fall down a flight of stairs. That little sense of 'I shouldn't laugh' that keeps most people from indulging too deeply in schadenfreude doesn't exist for Zupeth.

Tiny Shiny Bubbles Egg
Blue Tzerath - Anabelle
Tzerath will hatch from his egg just as effervescent and bubbly as his egg looks. He's a pale blue dragon, with slightly darker crescent-shaped spots on his hide giving him a look reminiscent of his egg - bubbly.
Based on Alka Seltzer
Green Mustelth - Kyrala
Socially adept from the moment she hatches, Mustelth is outgoing right away. She has that certain air about her that holds an unspoken exuberance. Cute, Mustelth is the cutest little green hatched in this clutch. She's fun loving, happy, and very, very social.
Based on Budweiser
So, How Do You Like Your Eggs
It's enough to make a Candidate's stomach rumble as it lies there, heat seeming to glow from it. It's not shiny enough to be a gold egg of course - heading more towards the pleasant goldren-brown of fresh toast. A tasty-looking thing - it's better not to test that thought out though unless you want a queen dragon upset at you.
No, best just to look, and keep any hungry thoughts to yourself. Just hope that it hasn't been lying there long enough to become hard-boiled...
Blue Bireyth - Missy
Some dragons are just born to love water. For blue Bireyth the fresh waters of the Lake will never seem to be quite enough - from the moment he's old enough to have his first glimpse of the ocean, his rider will have problems getting him away from the place. Boats and ships will fascinate him, and steps may have to be taken to stop him accidently breaking them in his curiosity.

Hatching Days Are Coming
It's not only Candidates who look forward to Hatchings - they're pretty exciting for the little dragonets crawling out of the Eggs too! This one seems to be almost buzzing with anticipation as it rocks on the Sand. Already it has a steady rocking rhythm set up, and seems to shift almost constantly, tireless. Stay up all night to watch it, and it would probably still be rocking long after you'd gone home in the morning.
The red and white blur and splodge together as it fidgets, patterns seeming to shift. Sometimes they seem almost to form letters - here something that could be a "C", there a looping "L", but then look at them another way and they're something entirely different.
Are we nearly THERE yet? the Egg demands, and will still be demanding once you've had to leave the Sands. You can be sure of that.
Alocoth - Raiel
No matter how old she and her rider live to be, Alocoth will always be a baby. The green will live in her own world of perpetual wonder, always excited.
Based on Coca-cola
Brown Koputh - K'virm
Koputh immediately hatches out of his chocolate shell looking for something. He has to find it, or he will go crazy! A somewhat skinny brown dragon, Koputh is a medium brown with a yellow-brown muzzle. For some reason, his head always looks messed up, and his tail has some dark brown streaks on it, almost making it look like tailfeathers instead of a real tail.
Based on Coco Puffs
Been There, Done That Egg
Some mysterious playfulness surrounds this egg, suggesting quite boldly that perhaps it should pounce upon the unwary who dare ignore it's presence.
This attempted stealthy entrance keep everyone from noticing the egg's arrival. Blackened stripes decorate the sides while being created by many slender lines... Or maybe that's actually part of the shell rather than from little animal claws. Either way, this egg give the impression it has Been There, Done That and so is content to lurk somewhat out of sight until Hatching day arrives.
Brown Kiekith - Ch'arney
Kiekith enters places with the best bounding leap that can be manage. The normal prancing steps show an excessive energy, suggesting he'd rather pounce upon some little animal. Not quite proper dragon attitude but his copper-brown hide doesn't appear quite normal because it has an almost roughly furred look -- just without there being any actual fur.
Based on Friskie Kitties- Friskies
Eye Of A Feline
And yet, there's something distinctly predatory about this one. The pattern across it resembles nothing less than a giant feline eye, and it seems to watch Candidates as they cross the Sands, its gaze following them.
Dragons, however beneficial and loving they may seem, are still carnivores. This Egg seems to carry that heritage well, the need to stalk and hunt down its prey. It seems likely that the baby that Hatches out of this Egg will do that with much enthusiasm.
But for now, the Egg just watches the Weyr with its eye, the eye of a feline.
Blue Tonith - Al'gan
Dragons are revered. They're wonderful, beautiful, the saviours of Pern.
Based on Frosties
Rainbow Desert Mirage Egg
Merriment spreads across the shell despite sand having completely isolated this egg. People can almost see an adventurous tale waiting to unfold. Who shall actually keep up with it's plight? The entire concoction suggests an illusion. Whether any reality exists within this egg... well that's a story for another time.
In the meantime, the Rainbow Desert Mirage Egg lure Candidates close with the ever shifting patterns of colour in the heat of the Southern Sun.
Blue Tosamth - Dany (D'nerys, Daenerys)
Bright blue markings stripe across Tosamth's muzzle. Even slender wings have that blue splotching against a normally midnight blue hide. Those contrasting colorations make him a complete eyesore. Those that don't care about outward appearances will notice some eye strain from looking closely at this dragon.
Based on Fruit Loops- Toucans
The first Candidate that gets to touch this egg will marvel at its softness until he or she goes to lay their head down on the shell as some Candidates are wont to do. It’s not ~all~ soft, for mingled in those seeming fuzzy tufts are sharp bits of shell. This egg certainly is full of surprises. Soft fur, tiny sharp shell spindles, and its odd almost straw-like coloring, along with its black-stripped appearance make for a very special addition to Jenith’s latest clutch.
Brown Bzubeth - T'vrin
Bzubeth hatches from his fuzzy shell much smaller than one would imagine for a brown. Why he’s about as big as one of the blues that just hatched. His size isn’t what seems to matter though, people are straining to see if he comes out fuzzy and they’re not disappointed. This little one is a light sorrel brown in coloring and his hide is so thick it really does look fuzzier than it has a right to. It’s not anything outrageous, but it is noticeable. His headknobs are long, thin and much darker than the majority of his hide, they do match some odd darker brown stripes on his lower half though and his short tail. Strangely enough his legs, fore and hind are all a very light milky brown. He’s a mismatch of the color brown but it suits him well. Bzubeth has small wings that suit his frame perfectly and match the milky brown of his legs, he’s really a wonderful little brown and quite adorable.
Based on Honey Nut Cheerio
This egg beckons to the Candidates, promising candlemarks of gazing as one tries to discover all the secrets of this treasured shell. Just when you get a glimpse of something you think might be a person, no…an animal, it’s gone. Something is lurking in the forest-covered shell it’s just impossible to tell what it is. This special egg promises only good things and why shouldn’t it, there is a wonderful little hatchling inside.
Green Relbekth - Elana
From the Topographical egg comes a dark leafy green hatchling. Her hide is a wonder of designs, unique patterns so delicate and sweet and each of them in the obvious shape of a broad Ash tree leaf. She’s gorgeous and the unique pattern has plenty of room to show off its distinct beauty because this little hatchling is going to be a wide dragon. She might not be very long, but she’s built sturdy and will always tend toward being a little chubby one. Does this chubbiness bring with it a disadvantage? Not at all. She’s so solid she’ll be able to last in a fall as long as most of the blues. Her wings match her roundness and extend further than they should for her length. Of course they make up for the length she’s missing compensating for the extra weight. When she unfurls them they open in a majestic broad leafy green beauty.
Based on Keebler Elves
Bejeweled Jungle Canopy Egg
However, not everything has allowed itself to be hidden from prying eyes.
Are those gemstones peeking out? Rubies? Emeralds? Amethysts? The Bejeweled Jungle Canopy Egg's rather numerous multicoloured freckles have scattered nervously rather like flower petals caught in a light breeze. Only the egg itself remains oblivious, enclosing itself in a lush green shoud that possessively prevents any treasures from escaping.
For the approaching Candidate it is a promise and a frustration of might might be inside. A treasure just for them or... nothing but a green-tinged dream.
Green Lepkyth - Riana
No matter the pace, Lepkyth treads lightly, treating the ground like fragile eggshells. Every mannerism presented suggests a prepared paranoia lurking beneath her lively green hide. Sudden movements or noises almost send her launching defensively into the air. Four large rounded leaves spread outward across forever half-opened wings.
Based on Lucky Charms- Leprechaun
Pebbles, Pebbles Everywhere!
This egg toys with the senses and will boggle the mind if you let it. Go ahead, try to make out some sort of design from the seemingly haphazard way the pebbles have been grouped together. There is a picture of something in there, right? Turn your head just a little to the side you see it don’t you? Well, try turning your head to the other side. Does that help? Maybe, just maybe you need to stand on your head for a few minutes. Enjoy your time with this very colorful, very beautiful egg just one of many Jenith has laid.
Green Meltineth - W'es (Wally)
Small and round she tumbles from her shell and small and round she’ll stay, equally proportioned as she grows into adulthood. The oddest thing about this little green is she’s sexy. Yes, sexy. How can a dragon be sexy? She just is without any real explanation. You look at her as she unfurls her damp wings and tilts her wedge-shaped head to one side, her eyelids slowly opening and closing and it hits you. She’s beautiful, sexy, and a green that will be the envy of other greens for some time to come.

Seductive Red Loops
There's something seductive about this Egg. The red loops seem to call out, beckoning to come closer. Younger Candidates especially may be caught by its pull, seeing something that the older and adult ones may miss entirely. Just seeing it and touching it can make a Candidate's day - but one touch is never enough. Even after leaving the Hatching Grounds, Candidates may find themselves longing to go back to those red loops - a longing strong enough that it might almost seem unhealthy.
Naldath - Q'rin
Naldath could never have been a dignified dragon. He seems to be built wrong for it - feet which are slightly too big send him stumbling and tripping over himself. Perhaps if that had been different he *could* have been a more serious dragon. Perhaps a clownish body resulted in a clownish personality, or perhaps he would have been that way anyway - it's hard to tell.
Based on McDonalds
Waiting For A Moment
Oddly though, to those Candidates who *do* notice and go over to investigate, it won't seem to be a shy Egg. It's not hiding there so much as waiting for a moment, the perfect moment when it can finally reveal itself to the world.
And what then, when the black shell finally peels away? Will it prove to be hiding away a Hatchling as dark-natured as it's Egg, or will it be a marvellous gift for some lucky Candidate? The answer for that will have to wait for Hatching - and the perfect moment.
Kilmath - E'tan
From a dark egg comes a dark-shaded dragon. Kilmuth will always be among the darker shaded of the bronzes - and that suits him just fine. Bronzes tend to generate a certain amount of attention. Kilmath isn't shy exactly, he just prefers to not have multitudes of people staring and prodding at him as if he were some kind of exhibit. In order to stay away from them, he'll very quickly gain a habit of lurking in the shadows to watch them, trying to remain unseen, listening rather than participating. He really isn't the talkative type and prefers to keep most people at a safe distance.
Based on Milktray
It's a homely soft sort of memory that may bring feelings of homesickness to some though. Reach out to touch the shell though, and it won't take long to discover that it's not soft at all. The dragonet inside is protected by a covering that's both strong and tough, ensuring there's no chance of harm coming to it. The only worry is whether it'll be strong enough to break through on Hatching Day.
blue Bamilth - Onally
From his looks, Bamilth's place should perhaps as the runt of the Clutch. He's not a big dragon - even for a blue. He's small and skinny, with blue hide which seems unhealthily pale. Even his eyes look a little odd - they seem to giggle more than they should, and there's a ring of hide around each which is even paler than the rest of his body.
Based on Milky Bar Kid
The Large Purple Egg
Green Zenecath - Petra
Of all the dragons in the Weyr, Zenecath will probaby be the most embarrassing to her rider. For this green dragon shall be one of the great burpers of society. Her first act of Hatching will be to let out a long, much deserved belch. She shall be the envy of all immature males - you know the kind. The ones who can belch the whole tune of "Moreta's Ride". Zenecath can belch an entire concert if she felt like it.
Based on Nexium Egg
But the egg still looks warm and inviting, and smells like the kitchens on a day when the wherrymeat is cooking in abundance. Not many eggs have a smell, but at least this one's isn't offensive as much as it invites more candidates to it to try to pet the textured shell.
Bronze Taketh - M'ltay
He's a soft amber bronze in color with a distinctive hide pattern of stripes not unlike his shell amazingly enough. It didn't happen often but once in a while the egg shell turned out to be a reflection on the contents of the egg and in this case it was most definitely so. Light amber bronze makes up the majority of this hatchling, with stripes a darker amber mingling in along with a very pale bronze. That same pale bronze paints his chin and the front of his headknobs, while the dark color covers the back sides of his headknobs. He's really rather handsome with his mysterious stripes and his regal bronze bearing.

The Pokey Hokey Egg
This whitish gray egg has another little quirk. It’s a bit fatter than the other eggs. If anyone cared to take a measuring tape to it they’d be a bit surprised. The holes make it look thinner than it is, but in reality it’s a very chubby egg. Does that mean there’s a chubby dragon inside? There’s a good possibility that’s so but stranger things have happened than a tiny dragon emerging from a big egg. Only time will tell the tale and on hatching day one can only hope the little dragon inside doesn’t appear quite so holey.
Blue Buneth - Alleria
Roly poly this hatchling is a little round ball of the lightest blue in existence. He’s ice blue and if ever there were a lighter blue to grace the sands it wouldn’t be in the memory of any watching this hatching. He’s so precious, so chubby and lovable, immediately upon seeing his round little body struggling out of his egg you want to hug this precious blue. His wings are in proportion to his body and its clear from the get go Buneth will never be a very big blue. His beautiful hide is perfectly smooth and flawless in its single color except for his eye-ridges which are lined a very dark, deep sea blue.
Based on Pillsbury Doughboy
Paint Bubbles Egg
As Candidates arrive on the Sands to touch the eggs they’re going to be surprised when they finally run their fingers over this egg. It’s completely smooth. Those little bubbles just aching to be poked into nonexistence aren’t bubbles at all. They won’t ‘pop’ under the touching and their illusion stays intact until the moment this egg cracks, and then who cares what the bubbles do, it's the hatchling inside that matters.
Green Ricekith - Caitlin
The green inside this pretty blue egg has a decidedly masculine air about her. It’s so odd but even looking at her she comes off as male. Not that there are any real distinguishing features except for color between the dragon sexes but some just seem to have a more feminine or masculine way about them. She’s a very large green with headknobs that protrude a bit too much. They’re also thicker and closer together than usual and very light green. While her headknobs are very pale green in color Ricekith’s body is a darker aqua-green with tiny circular patches spread out across her hide. These circular patches seem to be filled with hundreds of teeny tiny specks of the same pale green of her headknobs.
Based on Rice Krispies
Locked Up Til Hatching
The shell however proves just as impenetrable as the bar pattern, and so for now the dragon must stay where it is. There is time yet before this Clutch will Hatch, and until then there is no way out.
Don't worry though, little dragon - it is not forever! One day you *will* be allowed out of this cage - you are only locked up 'til Hatching!
Green Hugrith - Arialae
In the early morning, whenthe sun is just creeping up and a young Weyrling is just starting to wake up and trying not to...
Based on Shreddies
Honey Glazed Egg
Such sweet granduer looks far too tasty for healthful purposes. Yet it entices people into paying attention. Though most who examine closely find themselves unsurprisingly suffering from an annoying hunger.
Green Syreth - Asarene
Each clutch must have a smallest dragon. For this one, an extremely plump figure keeps Syreth from attaining that title. That roundness forces her to waddle around frustratingly slow -- something she dislikes very much. Wings are clearly preferred over her legs. A dark green coloration oozes lazily downward with her underside showing some temptingly minty shade.
Based on Syrup- Mrs. Butterworth
Red Skies at Morning Egg
Certainly that creature will probably appeal to younger generations but the determined expression suggests that, were it a real animal, it would be after something very interesting. Perhaps somebody's garden? The Red Skies at Morning Egg provides no answers about that ... or anything else for that matter just a sense for the Candidate that approaches it that the hunt is on and only the determined will get their prize on Hatching Day.
Green Tryth - J'kyn
Her overly dainty form does nothing to limit her eager bouncing gait, giving Tryth's lifemate enough exercise from merely trying to keep up. Her seemingly pale milky-mint green coloration makes it difficult to see any hint of illness in the early stages, but she will be a healthy active green, so this is not a major difficulty.
Based on Trix- Rabbit
Hello, Is Anybody There? Egg
Sky blue at one end fading to pale green at the other, you want to just reach out and touch it, to find out. Of course, Jenith might have a problem with that, so maybe you should just go find a friend (or perhaps an old acquaintance whom you haven't talked with in a while) and chat. Just hope that they're not busy... Either way, you'll probably find yourself humming some mindless (and annoying) tune for the next hour or so.
Brown Verizoth - B'nnet
Though nominally a brown, as there's really no way he could be any *other* color, Verizoth's hide is actually a yellowish-brown amber that, in certain lights, almost make him appear to be a dark-colored gold instead. He's far too small to be one, however, and the reddish-brown highlights make it even more obvious that Verizoth is, indeed, a brown. And if you ask him, he'll look at you funny and say of COURSE he's a brown - the 'Don't be stupid' will usually be implied.
