GhostRiders Clutch - Scifi and fantasy
Hatching 11th November 2009
Pern date 8.19.01.01
Eye On The Sands
The eye on the front though? Yeah, that's a bit more scary. The egg seems to shift, so it can swivel its attention towards anyone on the Sands.
Of course, it's all illusion. The eye isn't an eye at all, just a shape, no more threatening than any other. Still, it's hard to shake the feeling that this egg is watching you.
brown Halninth - Harril
Dragons don't lie, of course, but most can at least bend the truth a little. Halninth can't, he won't, and if his lifemate loves him he will never ask him to. Hiding things, keeping secrets, will only make this little dragons miserable and confused about what he's meant to do for the right.
Based on 2001 Space Odyssey Hal
Insect Eyes Egg
green Alyeneth - Vayen
Creepy is what a lot of people said about the egg shell and creepy is a feeling the hatchling seems to keep with her as she breaks away from the shell and her long, thin limbs stretch out slowly. Are hatchlings supposed to have claws that long? Seriously, are they really? This newly hatched white (green) appears as if she could use a good manicure and a pedicure while she's at it, those claws on fore and hind feed are just way too long. Unfortuntely, or maybe not, they're going to stay that way even after she starts getting about and walking, playing, eating and otherwise giving them wear and tear. She has incredibly strong claws and it won't be easy at all to keep out of the way of them especially at first.
Based on Alien
Ominous Star Egg
Will it inspire hope that the dragon inside isn't so barren? Or will it encourage some youngster to brave the desolation in order to search for life? There are no in betweens for this egg as if it only wants the attention of someone strong.
bronze Imlearth - Baryn
Would something dangerous hatch from the Ominous Star Egg? The answer seems yes once Imlearth has broken from his shell. In size he looms somewhat large with oversized wingsails dragging against the ground on takeoff. This'll slow him down initially but once he gets started in the air he will have strength and power to spare. He'll be the one that can keep going and keep going long after other dragons are dropping out, which bodes well for his performance in Fall and in flights!. On the ground though his motions are deliberate, slow and prowling like he seeks some prey but mainly because he doesn't want to rush and miss some important detail.
Based on Battlestar Galatica
Dreams of Egg
Staring at that egg makes a person think of questions like that, and it's hard to work out why. But it's a pretty egg, and it reminds candidates of a misty forest.
blue Runeth - Merod
Runeth feels hard boiled for a Dragonet. He's just a little white (blue), sure, a cog in the wheel of the weyr's great machine of perfectly trained thread-flying dragons, but he's aware of himself and cognizant.
Based on Blade Runner
Bloody Cracked Crystal
green Layseth - Maninhol
For all intents and purposes this little white (green) hatchling that appears from the Cracked Crystal Egg is amazing. She's a small white (green) but so compact you can readily see all the various definitions of her muscles beneath the white hide she sports. To look at her she's very unassuming really. You think cute and part of you wants to add, helpless to that but you can't. She's amazingly sweet to look at but a lot brighter than you're going to give her credit for based on appearance.
Based on Buffy
Grim Futures Egg
Despite it's bloody nature a light shines from beneath the surface. Several lines curve and connect together etching a shape that seems at odds against what surrounds it. It proclaims there's still hope for this dreary egg.
green Aliweth (pronounced: al-ee-weth) - Valurania
Everything about Aliweth seems feminine as her shapely, delicate appearance doesn't even reach medium-size. There are no masculine traits. Her features are lean and what muscles exist are mere traces on each limb.
Based on Charmed
Faceted Gem Egg
Managing to catch any light upon the shell, this egg seemingly glows from within with its own power - surely a good sign, reflecting the strength of the dragonet curled comfortably inside waiting patiently to break free. But for all that, one still has a sense of incompleteness, that something is missing. If one could only find the missing eggshard and restore it to proper place, who knows what might happen as a result?
green Kirath - Callysta (( Callie ))
A slender, petite white (green), Kirath has the sprightly nimbleness one might expect. She has the quickness and agility of most greens, but doesn't really utilise it as much as she might. Instead, she likes to glide, soaring on thermals and generally expending as little energy as possible. This comes not from laziness, but instead a realization that the more energy one expends, the more one must intake, and a desire to not eat more than she has to.
Based on Dark Crystal
Tempered Danger Egg
green Fargoth - Lenkaz
Fargoth is going to be a scrawny looking white (green). There's just no fixing that, she's always going to be lean and a little startled because, well, she is. She's on *edge*, and while she's infinitely curious, she's never going to satisfy that curiosity in a sane and safe manner.
Based on Eureka Fargo
Fire Blossom Egg
Okay, maybe not the *last* thing, but this Fire Blossom really is almost as warm to the touch as the name implies. Is it just the heat of the Sands, or is it something more?
blue Grigth - Carlvan
Size-wise, Grigth is about average for a white (blue), or perhaps a smidge on the smallish side - at least as far as his body is concerned. His wings are rather larger, proportionately speaking, than usual, which, combined with his body's long-and-lean build, serve to make him surprisingly agile.
Based on Last Starfighter
Ring of Starry Gold Egg
brown Emryth - Jayssin
Emryth is one of those dragons who likes to stay out of the limelight . He's more clever than he shows himself to be, he is less clumsy as well and he does have an uncanny knack for being in the right place at the right time - or the wrong place at the wrong time.
Based on Merlin
Soft Fuzzy What Egg
blue Flarkorth - Alyx
The blue that hatches from this rather amazingly white egg with the strange creature depicted upon the shell, is a just as white as his shell surprisingly.
Based on Neverending Story Falkor
Good Enough To Eat
And if it did? Well. Then it looks as though it might just be yummy. There's no denying that the colour resembles that of a fresh-baked cake just out of the oven. The white blotch atop it helps, looking thick and slightly sticky, just as though a blob of icing had been dumped on there.
Some eggs really can look good enough to eat. Best not to try though, hey?
green Gladoth - Alura
People and dragons alike fascinate Gladoth. They're like some wonderful toy she's been given to play with and watch, and who would refuse such a gift?
Based on Portal
Maybe the dragonet inside will deign to explain.
blue Yendorth - Koyjorn
Yendorth wants to know why you haven't already started to feed him already, and why everyone is different heights and who made the tables and -- and everything. Yendorth wants to know everything, because the possibility that there is something he doesn't know is unbearable to him.
Based on SGA Rodney
The Morning Star
blue Quth - Rommel
Quth is an average looking blue and average size. Slightly lanky, his tail will be slightly on the longer side and almost seem prehensile in the tricks that he can do with it, an he will find things to do with it, which will usually annoy someone.
Based on Star Trek Q
Healer's Patience Egg
green Whoopith - Arrak
Whoopith is one of those average, unassuming white (greens) that will always be just a tad bit chubby looking, it isn't that she is over weight, not by a long shot. She just has a slight roundness to her that will invite others to cuddle up next to her.
Based on Star Trek Guinan
Will the dragon inside this egg be as mysterious as the writing that seems to be on itís egg? I guess it will be a waiting game, hopefully the lucky candidate who impress the dragon from this egg has the patience to wait and see if those numbers are real.
brown Dath - Howell
Small and compact Dath will never be the biggest of browns, he will not be the smallest either. He will be well muscled and strong, very strong. In fact his rider will have to remind him that he is a little bit stronger than the thinks when he is playing.
Based on Star Trek TNG Data
green Empadth - Krysella
Empadth is petite though not the smallest dragon Pern has ever seen. She has perfect features. She will be noticed when she is around, even if she doesnít want to be.
Based on Star Wars Padme
Chrome Night Egg
bronze Dewinth - Janno
Dewinth is going to be a compact white (bronze), not overly small by any means but densely packed with muscle. He'll be a very good looking bronze, with well proportioned features and a real winning way with the greens and golds as he is a consummate charmer. He'll have a tendency to swagger just a little if he thinks the greens are looking! He's a bit of a daredevil, a risk taker and an adrenalin junkie in a lot of ways, and has no hesitation lunching himself into action with probably less forethought than needed - at least at the start.
Based on Supernatural
For some this will bring comfort, well if you grew up near forests or if you were a woodcrafter or something similar. For others it will make them long for another colour, like maybe brown?
green Iswanth - Taayar
If you ask Iswanth she will say she's average, and she's pretty much right. Average size, average weight, average everything. Look closely though you will see that her wings are just a bit too big, her headknobs just a little too widely spaced, her tail just a tiny bit too short. Not noticeable to anyone but her and maybe her rider, or closely observant.
Based on Twilight Isabella Swan
If you look long enough, maybe you will be able to work out what the patterns represent, the mix of colours draws you to stay and watch closely. Maybe itís a horn! Maybe itís a hat.. maybeÖ
green Xenprinth - Ses
A compact white (green) Xenprinth is rather solid. No sheís not fat at all, sheís lithe and lean but because of her heavy muscled body she will seem larger than she is.
