Character type: Harper
Appearance: Versar began losing his hair at a relatively young age, and by now the top of his head is a shiny bald thing. Having moved to the South he's doing the sensible thing and wearing a hat on top of it - it's better than sunstroke afterall. He has sharp blue eyes which apprentices rumour can pick out a wrong-doing through *walls* upon occasion. Certainly, it's uncanny the was he can pick out a student who isn't paying attention fron the other side of the room.
Personality: Spare the rod, and spoil the child - that's what Versar was taught, and it's a lesson he learnt well. He's a stern teacher to brats, Candidates and apprentices. He keeps a cane in his classes, and if you waste his time he won't hesitate for a second in bringing you to the front of the class and use it. More than one child has imagined that it was kept there simply as an idle threat - and returned to their seat a sorer and wiser child.
History: Versar was actually born in a Weyr, but by eleven years old was shipped off to the Harper Hall to learn how to do that. Originally it was his voice they wanted him for, but when it broke at 15 and became no more than average, he had already discovered a talent for teaching instead. Brats learnt when he taught them, if only because they were too scared not to, and he enjoyed the job.
