S'hinName Pronounced: Seh-Hin Appearance: S'hin stands at a fair height of 5'11" and looks to weight approximately 175 lbs. His build is on the wiry side and he's decidedly slim. His hair is a dark ebony black in color, comparable in hue to a raven's feathers. His hair is of medium length and flows down to end just past his ears with the hair near the back being slightly longer than the front. S'hin's hair tends to be a bit wavy and no matter how much it is brushed his hair usually has a slightly ruffled look. Hanging down over his forehead are thick ebony black spiky bangs that stop short of reaching the middle of his forehead. Slanting above his eyes are two raven black eyebrows that are pencil thin. His eyes are an interesting shade of brown, a reddish roan brown that hold a cunning intelligence within them. His nose is rather ordinary with a thin bridge and ends in a gently rounded curve. His lips are on the thin side and his lower lip is slightly thicker than his upper lip. Angular cheekbones and a pointed chin helped to give his face a narrow look. S'hin tends to wear his riding outfit much of the time as he is rather militaristic. Personality: S'hin is a surprisingly serious young man. His duties as a dragonrider take up most of his time leaving him with a lack of social life. He's a many who likes to have a steady routine, though he won't get upset if it is interrupted. He usually gets up early in the morning and has a mug of klah, finishes up any sweepriding reports he has to do, checks over the riding straps, and then either does drills, threadfall, or sweepriding. Whatever is he assigned to do each day. He flat out doesn't drink alcohol of any kind, telling most that he doesn't like the way it muddles his senses. He likes to keep a clear head just in case anything happens. He follows orders without hesitation and doesn't question them..which is a bad thing if the person he's following orders from doesn't know what they are doing. When it comes to women he tends to be a bit shy and he finds it difficult to make small talk with them. He does take the time to socialize on occasion but it is only if he has free time. If he is needed for anything at all he'll be gone very quickly. S'hin is a remarkably good strategist when it comes to fighting thread, which has prevented both him and Kerodoth from being seriously wounded so far. Although he will not drink he does like to gamble on occasion. He'll make bets at hatchings on which egg will hatch what and he's fairly good at a game of dragon poker. His temper is not exactly short but he can be goaded into an emotional outburst if pushed too far. Usually it just means he ends up yelling in someone's face and storming off. S'hin has a fear of gossamer spinners which he tries to hide. After all what would everyone think of a full grown rider screaming like a little girl at the sight of one? There's just something about them that creeps him out. He gets along fairly well with Kerodoth though they do have the occasional argument due to the fact they have differences in opinion on certain subjects. History: Shinn was born at Ista Hold. His mother Kheyena worked a as Journeyman Healer and his father Vheriyon worked a Journeyman Smithcrafter. Shinn was the second son born to his parents, his brother Athrel was the first. His father was a strict man and put him to work doing chores as soon as he was old enough to carry a bucket. Not that the chores were all that difficult but they kept him busy and kept him out of trouble. It was a good thing they did because during his early childhood Shinn was a brat. He whined and complained about almost everything and got upset easily when he didn't get what he wanted. Vheriyon wouldn't stand for that kind of behaviour and has Shinn spend an entire day with his uncle Talloy who was a hold guard. First Shinn got a lecture from his uncle about proper behaviour and then his uncle had him doing laps in order to run off his energy and learn some discipline. It wasn't the worst thing that could have ever happened to him but Shinn didn't want to have to go back to his uncle again so he smartened up after that. Information about S'hin's dragon Dragon Name: Kerodoth Colour: Blue Age: 5 Wing (Weyrling Group): Unforgettables (Adoptables Wing) Appearance: Kerodoth is a small blue dragon that barely reaches 25 feet in length, which makes him one of the smaller ones of his color. His indigo blue muzzle is short and comes to a blocky end, giving him what some would call a snub-nosed appearance. He has a long shallow threadscore scar that starts at the top left of his muzzle and flows down to end upon his right cheek. His eyeridges are smooth and narrow, a uniform indigo blue in coloration. His eyes are large and whirl various colors depending on his mood. Near the back of his head are two head knobs that are a dark shade of midnight blue. His neck is long and narrow with a solid sheen of indigo blue overlapped by sharp stripes of midnight blue. Running along the back of his neck are short triangular neckridges that end at the base of his shoulders. The neckridges are a vivid indigo blue etched with diagonal midnight blue stripes. Narrow shoulders give way to his indigo blue front legs which are thick around the base and narrow down near the ankle. Upon each of his front feet is a set of large claws that is a dark midnight blue in shade. His belly and sides are both a solid shade of indigo blue, though he has stripes of midnight blue that streak down his sides. His wings are long and angular, which helps to cut down on air resistance when flying. The tops of his wings are a solid sheen of indigo blue with midnight blue streaks running all the way down to the trailing edges. The bottoms of his wings are just a dull midnight blue in shade with no markings. His hind legs are slightly longer than the front and are indigo blue in color with faded bands of midnight blue across the upper part of each leg. The claws upon his hind feet are thicker at the base than the front, though they share the same midnight blue coloration. His indigo blue tail is long and whip-like and sports the same midnight blue stripes as the rest of his body all the way down to the tail spade. Personality: Kerodoth is not quite as serious as his rider and has a more mellow personality. He likes to socialize with other dragons and is a bit vain about the pattern of his hide. He is very serious when it comes to fighting thread but with every other aspect he tends to be confident and easygoing. Unlike his rider he isn't shy at all and won't hesitate to flirt with any green that he finds attractive. He's particularily adept at sappy romance lines, which tends to work against him as he annoys those he is interested in. When it comes to his temper he rarely ever loses it. If he's insulted he'll act as if it's a joke even if he doesn't find it funny. Kerodoth doesn't like to be left alone for a long amount of time and if his rider isn't around he'll accept the company of just about anyone. He is a very good judge of character and can usually tell his rider who to stay away from. For example if a person around his rider is tensed up Kerodoth can easily pick up on that body language and let his rider know the person is scared, angry, afraid, etc. He does it simply by reading body language. He can take orders just as well as his rider but he will sometimes ask his rider why they have to do something. Kerodoth is observant and if he isn't socializing or working he'll be sitting on his ledge and watching the activity going on below. Weyr of Origin: Ista Abilites and weaknesses: Kerodoth is a very agile little blue and can be very acrobatic in the air. Of course this does mean that he lacks the endurance some of the larger blues have. His flame of is of medium length and very hot, which helps to eradicate fair sized patches of thread.
