Name Pronounced: Re-LAH-na
Appearance: Relana is shorter than average, sturdy but not fat. She has medium-length dark brown hair, light brown eyes, and fair skin with rosy cheeks. She considered herself nondescript as a teenager, but has blossomed a little since coming South, having learned to protect her skin from the elements and changed her hair-style. She has firm but not pronounced muscles from a lifetime of swimming.
Personality: Having been raised from an early age to help her mother as a herbalist and healer, Relana is very practical and serious about her work. When off-duty, she likes to sing (alto) and play the alto pipe. She likes to wear something pretty for gathers, and is skilled at decorating her clothes with embroidery and sequins made from seashells. Since her father refused her permission to marry outside the hold, she became discontented, and eventually moved to Arolos to live as she chose and get her Healer knots. She is a bit envious of prettier women and those who have lovers, but if a man came on to her she wouldn't know how to react. However, she's always had a liking for Jentar, and might be persuaded to espouse him --- if she can overcome his reticence.
History: Relana is the daughter of Lord Landrian of Gar Hold, in the North. She was trained by her late mother, a journeyman healer, to help her in the Hold, but at first had no formal training as a healer.
