Character type: Harper
Appearance: Regalis has waist-length, jet-black hair that is commonly held in small braids, generally with beads on the ends. She has a few bangs which hang randomly (to her constant unhappiness) to the bottom of her nose. Her tilted eyes are a dark green, like the middle of a forest on a clear night, moonlight shining through the leaves of the trees above. Her eyebrows are delicately arched, and narrow, softly fading as they near her temples. Her pale skin speaks clearly of her time recently spent in the north, where she was born, raised, apprenticed. And where she recieved a long deep scar on her left shoulder.
Personality: Regalis isn't one to play games or fool about. She is very determined, and _will_ have her way. Those who get in the way get nothing in the way of compassion or even interest. She will just walk over you and not even notice you scream.
History: Regalis was born in a small, insignificant Hold, which just so happens to very possibly be the farthest away from any Weyr in all of Pern. So her parents (and her uncle is the Lord or that little place no one in the right mind would go to or hear of) and the rest of the Hold were (and probably still are) convinced that dragonriders are extremely indolent and amoral. Yes, the people of her birth hold are rather big headed, and they had some prety detailed plans fo Pern. Then an unexpected Threadfall came while Regalis and her half-brother were out, and he died. She was scored on the shoulder but managed to dive into the river they were fishing in and hide under an overhang after drowning the Thread, while fish raced about her to devour the drowned Thread. That terrified her so much that she didn't even go back to her Hold, but instead went to a neighboring Hold, which just so happened to have a Harper (hers was too insignificant and unknown to be granted one, hence the lack of knowledge about dragons and their riders), and told them she was from a trader caravan that Thread had destroyed. She almost immediately fell in love with music, and she proved to be somewhat talented with a gitar. The Harper contacted the Masterharper, and she was sent to the Harperhall to be -possibly- apprenticed. she refused so vehemently against going adragonback that they had to concede and send her by runnerbeast. On her way, she was caught in another Threadfall, this one expected and caught by 'riders. She freaked, causing her runnerbeast to panic, and she was carried at top speed through the brush until they came out on a beach, and the only place to go was into the water. And it just so happened that this particular runnerbeast was terribly afraid of large amounts of water. So she was knocked of by it unexpectedly renewed antics, and the beast fled, and it was later found at the Hold nearest, where it was stabled. She was only a short ways away, but she had no way of knowing that. Searches had been deployed, but only a single human. When they recieved the rather damaged and exhausted runnerbeast, a full-fledged search began. It took them three sevendays to find her. During those three days, she encountered the remains of a firelizard clutch. Two of the eggs had somehow been missed when the rest was found and removed. When she found them, they were already quite hard. They hatched a pair of browns just a single sevenday after she was found. She named the two Sorryl and Forlorn, the latter because he seemed so sad whenever he had to wait for food. Sorryl... it just somehow seemed to come to mind.
Information about Regalis's pets
Pet Name: Forlorn
Pet Type: firelizard (brown)
Appearance: Forlorn is a dark, muddy brown. If fact, it always looks as if he just came out of a mud bath. The underside of his chin is slightly lighter than the rest of him.
Personality: Forlorn matches his name only when waiting for food. Otherwise, he is as lively as any flit has a right to be. He sings rather lower than firelizards usually do. He makes friends with other firelizards quite easily.
Second Pet Name: Sorryl
Pet Type: firelizard (brown)
Appearance: Sorryl is a light, almost greenish brown. He is difficult to see if he hides in a tree in spring, with the buds just starting to ripen and the bark still paled from the winter sun.
Personality: Sorryl enjoys singing. Rather more than necassary. He also likes chirping _right_ in your ear if you take too long to give him food.
