Name Pronounced: jkAga
Appearance: J'kaga was a nice looking rider in his younger years at Telgar Weyr. The color in his short hair has long faded and been replaced with a salt and pepper grey colour, a colour present even in his beard almost matching the steely blue-grey of his eyes which are still bright with life. He no longer wears a beard since it is too hot in Arolos.
Personality: J'kaga in his younger days was a vital man and he and his blue Jareth were as good a threadfighting pair as you could ask for who bounced back from injuries and lived life to the fullest and staying busy, but his hardest trial was to come, old age.
History: Jukaga was a spry young lad in the past, always carrying his wits about him and keeping himself out of trouble. He never fought much and he seemed to be able to weasel his way into just about anything, and that was how he got his way into Telgar Weyr in the first place having weaseled his way into joining a caravan that was headed there. A fifteen-turn old that looked eighteen, Jukaga pulled it off splendidly. When he got there he worked as an Apprentice in the Infirmary and left his short-lived caravan days behind him, turning to his work as a Healer. It never occurred to him that he could be a Candidate at that time, so he never bothered involving himself with the business about Hatching or Impression. He was always loyal to his Healer Masters. When the time for Hatching came around, Jukaga was one of those present in the crowd to observe. The "miracle of birth" as some called it seemed like a disaster to Jukaga, as most Candidates were dismissed by the dragonets in some of the most inhuman ways; though only one died, it was still something to witness. How could such beautiful and mysterious creatures be such horrible and cruel monsters wobbling around thoughtlessly on the Sands? Then, the 15 turn old Jukaga heard a voice in his head protesting that, ((He, Jareth, was no monster and he demanded to know where his J'kaga was!))
Information about J'kaga's pets
Pet Name: Knothead
Pet Type: Blue Firelizard
Appearance: Knothead is a sturdy blue firelizard. His coloring is a lighter medium blue darkening out to his wingtips.
Personality: J'kaga wondered if this flit had wood for brains, he was so dense at times. Knothead wasn't as dumb as he thought and J'kaga enjoys having Knothead around even if he is just napping on J'kaga's desk. Knothead is devoted to J'kaga and Jareth and can do a little delivering of papers. He has seen his mother BlastIt deliver papers although he doesn't remember that BlastIt is his mother. Can't have everything.
Information about J'kaga's dragon
Dragon Name: Jareth
Wing (Weyrling Group): CandidateMasters
Appearance: Once a very rich and beautifully coloured dragon, but now his age is showing. The glittering cerulean hues of his youth have been replaced with a steely grey highlight, and there are definite wrinkles around his eyes. His wings don't seem to be as tight or powerful as they once were and he seems to mope about when he walks.
Personality: These days, Jareth doesn't stay active a whole lot and that shouldn't be a surprise. He moves enough to keep himself fed and get a good bath but beyond that you'll most likely find this old dragon napping and enjoying the sun of Arolos. He is a realist with Turns of experience under his belt and he can seem a bit depressing to talk to, but that's not entirely his fault. Even though it has been turns since he has fought thread at least as part of a fighting wing, Jareth remembers and that makes him none too optimistic. He is full of good advice, but discourages hopeful wishing. He doesn't participate in mating flights anymore as he and his rider are just too old to enjoy that kind of brisk activity anymore. If he were to strain himself with that now, he'd probably kill himself. That is what he thought until every dragon and rider had to fight the Thread Tornado. He could still breath threadburning flame with the best of them. Despite the little bit of indigestion from the firestone, he feels pretty revived after that.
Weyr of Origin: Telgar
Abilites and weaknesses: Flying will grow to be a problem for Jareth as old age turns his wing muscles less toned. He can sustain himself in the air for short flights, hunting, short errands, but that's the extent of it. His threadfighting days are past or at least he thought they were until he was called into service during the threadtornado.
