ChireCharacter type: Trader Appearance: Chire is blacksmith-trained, and it shows. He's only of medium height, but has shoulders and muscles that still make him dwarf most men. Far from handsome, he has a scarred, leathered face from leaning over fires and having shrapnel fly at him. He's also packing a lot of weight that's NOT muscle, making him even larger and less eye-pleasing. Personality: Stereotypically gruff, Chire has one weakness that will trick him into being sociable. That is, talking about his craft. Not his Craft, for he left the Smith halls long ago and hasn't been back since except for business purposes, but his craft. His art. INVENTING. He trades in gadgets, knickknacks, old ideas that he's added on to and improved. From farming implements to things to make cooking for a family a little easier, if Chire can think it up, he'll try to make it, and then to sell it. History: Chire was not born on the trail like most Traders. He was born in a Smith hall, to a very happy Journeyman teacher and an assistant Headwoman. In time, he was apprenticed to his father's Craft. He hated it. Not the work or the science; that, he loved. It was being told WHAT to make, being given deadlines and guidelines, that he rebelled at. 'Tell me how to work the metal, then let me work it MY way,' he said. Information about Chire's pets Pet Name: Brown Pet Type: Dog Appearance: Brown is ... brown. He's a large shaggy mutt, with maybe some wolfhound in his ancestry to judge by his size, and is fully capable of knocking down most people. Personality: Fortunately, brown is well-trained, and complacent to boot. He's happy to simply lie beside Chire's table dozing, only to rouse if there's trouble or a treat to be had. If you're lucky and exceptionally brave, you can find Chire having conversations with him sometimes. Brown is often Chire's only companion on the trail, and Chire believes that he's learned to speak Brown's language over the years. Second Pet Name: Slim Pet Type: Draftbeast Appearance: Slim isn't. He's bulky like Chire, and entirely too fond of sweetcakes. He's black, with a brown splotch on his right flank. He's gelded. He and Fatty are not pets, exactly; they're what draw Chire's wagon from here to there. Personality: Well, he's a draftbeast. He gets along well with Chire, Brown, and Fatty, and pretty much ignores everyone else. He'll be friendly if offered a sweetcake, but lose interest in you quickly. Third Pet Name: Fatty Pet Type: Draftbeast Appearance: Fatty isn't. He's slender, looking able to defy the stereotype of slow, plodding draftbeasts, though he's still strong. He's dark grey, with a light star on his forehead. He's gelded. He and Slim are not pets, exactly; they're what draw Chire's wagon from here to there. Personality: Well, he's a draftbeast. He gets along well with Chire, Brown, and Slim, and pretty much ignores everyone else. For some reason, he has an aversion to birds, and will shy away if one crosses his path.
