TanninName Pronounced: Tah-neen Appearance: Tannin is rather tall for a girl reaching 5'11" tall and she is very muscular under a delicate and fair skinned exterior. Her hair is short cropped only about an inch or so long, though she prefers it to be shaved. If it were not shaved her hair would be a beautiful saffron blond color striking beautiful against her bright green eyes. She dresses as much like a young man as possible doing everything she can to hide the fact that she is female. Tannin has a thread score racing down her back and to her bum, which she uses to her advantage. She keeps bandages wrapped over the wound and concentrates the wrappings on her chest to further flatten her chest, though this isn't hard as her mother wasn't very buxom herself. Aside from her minor thread score Tannin has fading scars about her body, mainly on her legs and arms, from her scrapes during travel. Personality: Tannin is very quiet and almost always looks a bit irritated. She refuses to speak to anyone unless spoken to, and even then her answers are very short and quiet. This is owing to her fathers adage that women are not to be seen or heard except in the bedroom and even then they are to be heard as little as possible. She is very apologetic even when she's done nothing wrong, it could even be said she apologizes for breathing. She has no trust for men whatsoever, and she is usually very cold and rude toward them save for those in an obvious authority position. In the presence of authority she holds a quiet and tough exterior and obeys orders grudgingly. Her demeanor changes, however, when she speaks with her brothers. She is very affectionate towards her brothers, and will go out of her way to make them happy. Is someone were able to warm up to her and gain her trust she could be very sweet. History: Tannin was born into a very lonely and hate filled existence in a small beast hold near Crom hold. Her father Nexin was a very sexist man, only seeing women as little better than breeding stock. He was a Beast crafter specializing in runners and he held his runners in higher regard than his wife Bertice, who was Tannin’s mother. Tannin’s mother was unhappy with the man but felt she had no choice in marrying him. When Tannin was born Nexin was furious, but he allowed Tannin to stay when Bertice pleaded with him that she would be wonderfully useful to marry some rich lord holder’s son. Among Nexins bad qualities was also a strong Avarice and the thought of money quelled his rage for a short time. Despite allowing her to stay Nexin was terrible to Tannin talking to her as if she were a halfwit if he even spoke to her at all. Tannin is a candidate. Her colour preference is Gold, Green, Blue Read: Yes All references to worlds and characters based on Anne McCaffrey's fiction are copyright© Anne McCaffrey 1967,2005, all rights reserved, and used by permission of the author.
