S'kanName Pronounced: Skan Appearance: S’kan has thick black hair he keeps perfectly trimmed, parted in the middle, and feathered back from his face. His blue/gray eyes stand out on a well-tanned face of strong character with Thread scarring on his left cheek that starts just under his left eye and slips down to his jaw. S’kan is just over 6’ 1” and is of medium build, kept strong from his years as a dragonrider. He prefers to dress in muted colors on the occasions he isn’t in his riding clothes. He walks with a noticeable limp much of the time due to a badly broken left leg that didn’t heal right. Personality: S’kan is a very intense young man whose approach to teaching the weyrlings under his care is a study in contrasts. He has an eidetic memory, making him a perfect assistant to the Weyrlingmaster, and has a talent for reciting lessons and hammering home things the youngsters need to know in a way that’s fun for them learn. He’s tough when he spots someone trying to skate by and doesn’t hesitate in assigning extra lessons or doling out reprimands when needed. One of his favorite punishments is having the miscreant bathe and oil S’kan’s dragon. If someone is struggling, they won’t find a more patient teacher who will take the time needed to bring them up to par or a sympathetic ear to get them through a difficult time. Outside of his position, S'kan tends to be quiet man who prefers to watch what people are doing rather than join in. History: Born and raised in High Reaches Weyr to a brownrider, S’dro, and a journeywoman healer, Kanara, Sandrokan grew up contentedly bothering his father about anything dragon related while absorbing anything he ever read or heard like a sponge. The Weyr harper wanted to put him in his crafthall, but the boy had zero musical ability, sang off-key so much he was asked NOT to sing at all, and absolutely no interest in the craft. Information about S'kan's dragon Dragon Name: Raskath Colour: Blue Age: 11 Turns Wing (Weyrling Group): WeyrlingMasters Appearance: Raskath is a dark sapphire blue with lighter blue on his wingsails and belly. He has a few small Threadscores down his left shoulder and a larger one on his right hip but nothing that impedes him. He’s big for a blue, and as such isn’t as graceful in the air as his brethren, but he has more stamina to make up for it. Raskath is heavy through the back legs, giving him extra thrust to get his bulk off the ground and his wings are a little too long for his frame, but given his size, some length is good to get him airborne. He has an elegant head when preening for the greens, but also has a way of lowering his muzzle and narrowing his eyes when dealing with errant weyrlings that makes him look intimidating. Personality: Like his rider, Raskath is always available to the weyrlings and their dragons. He’s been known to curl up with a miserable youngster whose rider overfed them or comforted them when one of their own didn’t make it back from a training flight. He is calm, patient, and as steady as they come. Weyr of Origin: High Reaches Abilites and weaknesses: Excellent endurance for a blue, but a little too hefty to be graceful. He adores weyrling dragons and is great teacher with much patience and has a soothing presence, but doesn't like for their riders to get out of line. His rider has his hands full keeping Raskath from wanting to gorge at times. If one of the young dragons is injured, he will try to hover, often driving the healers crazy with his overbearing presence.
