Character type: Dragonrider
Appearance: Riana's light brown hair, bleached to an almost blonde color by the sun, is plaited down to midback, and her almond-shaped hazel eyes glance carefully about, as if she is trying to take in every detail of the things around her. There is a light sprinkling of freckles on the bridge of her small nose and on both cheeks. Her full lips are light pink but more often frowning than smiling. A slight bronze color has seeped into her skin from spending days in the sun.
Personality: Riana has changed since she entered the Weyr. She used to be a bit torn and broken on the inside, but has seemingly blossomed in the attentions of others her age, the candidate master, and now her dragon.
History: Riana never knew her father. He died before she was born. Her mother was a cook in a Thonet Hold's kitchen. Although loving, her mother was always very busy. That left plenty of time for a young girl to explore and daydream. As a child, she was afraid of heights; but soon after she had heard her first story about a dragonrider, she set out to overcome that fear. From climbing trees to going to the very top of towers, she was determined to be free of her fear. She wanted to be a dragonrider. She even began training herself. Every day, she’d do exercises once when she woke and once before she slept. Her mother could never say she approved, especially since Riana was a close friend of a visiting Holder's youngest neice. She viewed that as a good connection to handfast her daughter to a wealthy man. Alas, neither girl cared about such things and would torture her by acting "unladylike" at every opportunity. Finally, giving in to her daughter’s dream, she began teaching Riana the basics of reading, writing, and numbers using the rare recipe sheets they had accumulated over the years in the kitchens. It was a golden time for both mother and daughter, that they'd both miss when it was gone.
Information about Riana's dragon
Dragon Name: Lepkyth
Wing (Weyrling Group): CloudDancers
Appearance: No matter the pace, Lepkyth treads lightly, treating the ground like fragile eggshells. Every mannerism presented suggests a prepared
Personality: Lepkyth has treasure...colorful treasure that no one has ever seen and will never see! Rest assured that she believes this treasure actually exists. She will automatically go defensive around everyone besides her lifemate -- paranoia making her believe they're after the special treasure. That of course can't be allowed and she'll generally hide or sneak away from any confrontations. Unfortunately, she'll forget essential things like green shows up very clearly against black backgrounds...
Weyr of Origin: Arolos
Abilites and weaknesses: In the air while Lepkyth won't be unusually skillful, she *may* find herself unusually lucky in Thread. Injuries which should have killed her will miss vital organs by just a few inches, or perhaps she'll be in the right place at just the right time to save a wingmate's life. Strokes of luck won't happen every Fall but just often enough to make her and her rider valuable wingmates.
