Name Pronounced: Ran-uhsk
Appearance: Six-foot three, lean and long-limbed, Ranusk came to the Weyr three Turns ago three inches shorter and a good number of pounds scrawnier. A Turn of in-barrack Candidacy and now two Turns of full-time apprenticeship in Smithcraft have served to put some serious muscle on his frame.
Personality: If Ranusk was on earth, he’d be an extreme sports enthusiast. He’s not quite grown out of the “Let’s see who can jump from the highest limb and land on their feet” stage, and frankly, may never. He’s always been good, as far as doing what he’s told, but he’s just so darn LIVELY, and now, testosterone-riddled, that he tends to fall into physical trouble with fair frequency. As a toddler, he was the one with the thousand daily questions and the one to climb on top of the wardrobe. Now, he’s the one swinging off the cliff on a rope into the river, going everywhere at a full run, and sucking up food like a starving wher.
History: Ranusk was brought to the Southern continent as a youngster, with his parents and older siblings. Alonel Hold drew the family because of its tendency to take on the deaf, and the lack of opportunities at the Northern Hold where they labored. Ranusk is the only hearing member of his family, likely because he was sired by another man, though his father has no suspicions, and his mother was afraid to speak up about being accosted by a lordling.
