RanessaName Pronounced: Rah-Ness-Uh Appearance: Ranessa is a young adult who is shorter than many female riders, standing at a mere 5'2" in height. She has long dirty-blonde hair that sweeps down to end just past her shoulders. Her hair is often braided into several small different braids and tied back, although sometimes she wears it in a runner tail. She is neither beautiful nor homely and her heart-shaped face is etched with high cheekbones and a square blunt cut of bangs. Her eyes are a dark sage green and are perhaps her most striking feature. Other than that her nose is small and rather plain, with a light spray of freckles across the top of her nose and cheeks. Her lips are ordinary as well, if a bit on the thin side. Upon the side of her neck is a light purple scar, evidence of where she had been lightly threadscored. Her arms are slightly muscular, due to her time spent as a weyrling hauling around bags of firestone. Her hands are smooth of calluses, since she tended to wear gloves often to prevent such a thing. She does indeed take care of herself, as can be seen by her carefully filed nails. Upon her left hand between her thumb and index finger are two small round scars, puncture wounds from being bitten by a tunnelsnake. Her build is on the thin side, though by no means is she emaciated. She tends to wear comfortable clothing such as leather and wherhide, although she doesn't mind wearing the occasional dress. She particularly dresses in black, green, or blue. Her legs are of medium length and toned with a bit of muscle. Upon her ankle is a tattoo of a small green firelizard sitting upon a branch. Last but not least are her custom made white wherhide (wherry hide) sandals, which look quite striking compared to the usual darker colors. Personality: Ranessa is a young adult that takes her responsibilities as a greenrider seriously. She works hard to care for her dragon like most riders and she rarely shirks her responsibilities. She has a very stubborn streak when it comes to an argument and won't back down from one if she thinks she's right. She can't handle criticism very well, which is one of her major faults. She tends to be a bit more critical thinking than some green riders and although she can be emotional at times she isn't ruled by emotion. History: Ranessa was born to a modest family in Keroon Hold. Her father Mavek worked as a Beastcrafter, while her mother Ajira worked as a healer. A turn after she was born, her little brother Lansen was born into the world. When she was young she followed her mother around constantly, always asking questions. At first it annoyed her mother but after seeing how quickly she learned her mother encouraged her and answered her daughter’s questions the best she could. As she got older she took an interest in her mother's craft and at 12 she was apprenticed to a healer named Xalan. One day her mother called the entire family together and announced that they were going to go to a gather at Ista Hold. She'd requested a dragonrider for conveyance. Later a blue dragon arrived to take them to the gather, but instead the blue searched her brother. Information about Ranessa's pets Pet Name: Talon (deceased) Pet Type: Blue Firelizard Appearance: Dark shades of blue unravel along the expanse of the young firelizard's hide, uniformly crisp in a ferocious sky color with rolling storm clouds. Surely, the type of blue heralded by the dark ominous gray which smokes tendrils across his sleek chest casting a fine powdery gray to mix in with the brighter more livid tones of his dorsal and underside. The murkiness of the cavorting blue and gray continues about across his hide to gently drizzle down his tail like a summer thunderstorm of livid electric blues, suspiciously drawing attention to the firelizard with each playful of mischievous stroke. The subtle darkness of nightly blues begin at the where wing meets back, the ebon and midnight only dominated by a more richer navy which glazes his sails along with a coating of silver incandescence. Surprising enough, a powdery-blue streak mars the hide just above his right eye and trails down to the side abit to further encourage the mischievous facade this blue seems to emanate. Accompanied by the same powder-dusted ivory hue, the blues head-knobs are almost comically rounder then most firelizards. Personality: Talon is rather smart for a firelizard and he learns quickly. However he also seem to love to pull pranks and if someone has food they'd better watch it around him, because he's likely to steal it. He tends to like pulling stunts over head, diving and then pulling up at the last minute. He likes to hang around blue and green dragons, but he won't go near anything larger than a blue since he's afraid of them. When not off playing pranks or searching out a green, he'll often be found perched on his pet's shoulder. He's protective of Ranessa, though not to the point that he's unreasonable. One thing he shares with all firelizards is that he has a tremendous appetite, and he seems to have taken a liking to meatrolls. He's good at following Ranessa's orders, but its hard to get him to listen to anyone else. He's fairly good at carrying messages and they usually get to where they need to go, although if there's food nearby he can easily be distracted. Overall he's a playful firelizard who just likes having fun. Second Pet Name: Kezlan (Kez for short) Pet Type: Brown Callamere Wher Appearance: A young callamere wher, this brown has grown to the size of a young St. Bernard. Soft creamy hues of mocha brown sweep up over his muzzle to encompass his entire head. Upon his cheeks two horizontal lines of klah brown streak across his face to end just behind his eyeridges, giving him a spirited appearance. Another streak of klah brown starts at the middle of his muzzle and flows black to end right between both eyeridges. His bright whirling eyes are protected by a set of googles, given to him by Riv in order to protect his eyes from the light. Near the back of his head are two small headknobs, which are not really noticeable because they blend in perfectly with the mocha brown color on the back of his head. His neck is sleek, stocky, and well-proportioned, and it gleams with good healthy. The majority of his neck is covered by creamy mocha brown hues, except for several vertical klah brown streaks that make their way down from the back of his neck to end at around the middle. Upon the back of his neck are several small triangular neckridges that flow down to end just before his shoulders. The small neckridges are mostly mocha brown in color, with some klah brown speckles near the back of each one. This wher's shoulders are powerful and robust, holding quite a bit of muscle. Creamy shades of mocha brown surround his shoulders before flowing down onto his front legs. The wher's front legs are of medium length and sleek, though they contain a fair bit of muscle. Both of his front legs are creamy mocha brown in color, except for a small band of klah brown that surrounds each ankle, making him look as if he is wearing cuffs. One of the most notable parts of him are his front feet, which are a light mocha brown in color. What attracts the attention however is his long deadly klah-brown claws, of which he sports a set upon both front feet. The belly and sides of the wher are sleek and thin, a testament to his callamere parentage. His thin belly is not a mocha brown in color, but rather it is a rich shade of klah brown. His sides however remain mocha brown, untouched by any other color. The wings of the wher are also a testament of his callamere heritage. Though his wings are stunted, they are perfectly formed. They look like the exact replica of a brown dragon's wings, only in miniature and are far too small to support the whers weight. The wings are mostly mocha brown in color, except for a few streaks that follow along the spar bones to end at the trailing edges of each wing. His hind legs are a bit more heavily muscled than the front, but no to the point that's it's really noticeable. Light mocha brown hues surround his back legs, which end at his ankles, which like the front have a single band of klah brown around it. His hind feet are slightly larger than the front and have longer claws, which are dark klah brown in color. Last but not least is his tail, which is about half the length of his body. The tail is smooth and long with mocha brown running from the base to the spade at the end of his tail. Personality: This wher may be young, but he's already developed quite a personality. He is rather intelligent for a wher, being able to figure out simple problems and having the ability to reason. On the other hand he's also very sensitive and can easily take things the wrong way. When his feelings have been hurt his wings will droop and he'll call himself bad. Whether he does that because his feelings are actually hurt or he's just trying to get his own way, nobody will ever know. He's quite the playful little wher and he's willing to play games with just about anyone, whether it be a flit, a human, another wher, or a dragon. Like any young draconic, he has a massive appetite and has to be fed quite often, or else he'll get cranky and whiny. What's amazing is that at his young age he can already speak, though he doesn't have a very extensive vocabulary. Since he's not an impressed wher, he's reverted to pack behavior. He considers Ranessa the alpha, Kyrath the beta, and Talon the omega. Also, like any good wher, he's protective of those within his pack, though he's been trained not to attack unless he's been given good reason. He still has a lot to learn however, and he can't always tell right from wrong. He often gets into mischief without really meaning to, which is something he needs to work on as well. Overall he's a sensitive, loyal, and playful wher that still has a lot to learn about life.
