N'renCharacter type: Weyrling Appearance: N'ren is quite tall for his age and strong. He isn't thin and bony, but he definitley isn't fat or even pudgy, just somewhere in between. His hands are chapped from lots of work by the sea and his short, thick brown hair is always ruffled; however much he tries, he can never get it to lie flat. N'ren has round piercing blue eyes that you can always tell if he's listening by, if he's bored they will just glaze over. His straight nose gives him an air of sincerity that his eyes emphasise. He has rough tanned skin with no facial hair; he doesn't even shave regularly yet, although he is quite mature otherwise. Physically, N'ren is very fit and loves to be outdoors and running around. Personality: N'ren's personality has been influenced a lot by his Impression of Muhuth; before he was open and friendly but would often get bad-tempered. Now he is much more ready to laugh, even at his lifemate's bad jokes, and doesn't sulk so much. He is a very affectionate person who will make friends lightly, but will often try to spend as long as possible around them before really trusting them. As an apprentice at the seacrafter hall, he got to know the others and had lots of friends, but at the weyr he knows less people and is sometimes quite shy. N'ren is never talkative at the best of times, but is learning to open out take others (especially Muhuth!) into his confidence more. Sometimes he's a little claustrophobic indoors, but not very much. However, he is definitely the sort of person who prefers to be outside, however cold and wet it is. Simularly, he always smells more like a crisp morning, rather than an indoor smell like cooking. N'ren's very proud and touchy on subjects like his family; although he normally hates fighting, considering it a waste of time and life, he might attack you if you insulted his parents, that is if you were a boy and had really meant it, and could stand up for yourself and... He's very sincere and honest though (at least 98% of the time) and would prefer not to hurt a fly. History: N'ren was born in the Seacrafters Hall, where, although he loved the sea, he felt he could have more fun doing something else. So, when he was searched, he was delighted. His mother, Renna, a woman of the lower caverns at the Hall, was also pleased, but his father, Nar, a Sea crafter, was furious. He felt that since his father and his father's father, way way back, had all been Sea crafters, so should Narren. When N'ren protested that he should be allowed to leave the hall since he was no more than an apprentice, his father became furiously angry and beat N'ren, refusing to have anything to do with him in the future until he gave up this stupid idea of being a dragon rider, and forbidding Renna to either. Renna attempted to change Nar's mind but he wouldn't take back his words and grew angry with Renna aswell. Renna didn't know what to do. Although normally strong minded, she couldn't decide between her son and lover. Eventually, she gave N'ren a wild flit egg she had found a sevenday ago and told him to go with the search rider with her love. When the egg hatched into a green, he called it Renna. Information about N'ren's pets Pet Name: Renna Pet Type: Fire lizard Appearance: Renna has a pretty face and a glossy coat, and although she's slightly undersized, even for a green, she's still very pretty. Despite her size, Renna can still fly fast, outstripping most blues and quite a few browns. The reason for this is her wingspan which is slightly out of proportion with the rest of her, although it isn't majorly obvious. Personality: Renna has to be one of the most friendly flits on Pern: she is anxious to please and a brilliant, if forgettful friend. She loves meeting new people and is very noisy! She and Muhuth are really good friends and she loves to tease him. However, she does sometimes get fed up of being around a baby dragon and returns to N'ren to sulk. But she still can't resist running off to make new friends! Really, she's a bit of a bimbo. Information about N'ren's dragon Dragon Name: Muhuth Colour: Brown Age: 3 months Wing (Weyrling Group): None Appearance: Muhuth is growing fast and quite large now, almost as big as a bronze of his age. He is a very rich brown with quite large eyes. When he was younger, his face was quite delicate, almost girlish, but now, as he's getting older, his face is starting to thicken out, becoming more masculine and rough, like his rider. His mind voice is far from lyrical, but isn't harsh to the ear, normally happy is just the best way to describe it. Personality: As much as we love him, Muhuth's jokes tend to be more quantity than quality. His ambition is to make the whole of Pern smile, but somehow, he still can't get up the courage to saunter into the room and start making jokes like some of his clutchmates. Although he would never admit it, Muhuth often gets shy, he's brave as well, but just not with most people or dragons. N'ren is sometimes just as bad which doesn't give Muhuth any much needed confidence, together, they could hover on the doorstep for a sevenday. If you told Muhuth to go out and fly thread, without any training, he would love the challenge, but go and join a group of strange people? Once he's in the company of people he's confident around though, Muhuth starts to get a bit over enthusiastic and silly. N'ren is a calming presence for him, he always remains totally in control of himself during parties, knowing that he would only embaress himself. Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: Muhuth will be able to get up a very good speed once in the air, but will never be able to accelerate quickly. He's relitively sensible, although Muhuth tends to treat life lightly, he knows the seriousness of thread fall and the dangers, and quick thinking. Despite his size, he can turn quickly and efficiently, although not on a wingpoint, but will need N'ren to always know exactly what he's doing so that Muhuth doesn't lose confidence in what he is doing.
