LornalCharacter type: Healer Appearance: Lornal stands at five feet, seven inches tall, with the stern grace of a man who was born with an iron rod molded into his spine. His shoulders never slouch, and he never shrugs them, and yet that is perhaps the most foreboding and stern part of who he seems to be. He has a toothy, predator's smile, warm apologetic blue eyes, not a single hair on his head, and a spattering of light, shiny scars from heat burns. He's a man who's strained to be athletic for most of his life, and the fruits of his labor are a lean body, and relaxed confidence that he is, despite all oddities, something worth looking at. Lornal dresses neatly, with confidence and prefers to avoid the more garish-looking things that he could sometimes afford. Personality: How're you today? You look like you're doing well, oh, a healthier face I've never seen, only... only Lornal will rush you off your feet with smooth words and a salesman's smile, and then catch you off guard with genuine-sounding hesitance -- before he launches into a subtle sales pitch about how such and such or this and that can be fixed with this simple thing in a jar over here. History: Lornal had an essentially normal childhood, but that didn't change that he was a boy who was un-necessarily haunted by the usual childhood fears. Death, heights, bugs, shadows, he was a skitterish boy. His father worked as a Steward to a hold that was under Fort's control, and his mother was a healer in the same hold. He was brought up as an only child, and when he was of age, fostered off to his father's brother in Arolos Hold. When he was old enough, he was apprenticed to the Healer Hall in the south. Healing turned into a knack for the bright young boy, who made friends with a fellow apprentice. Just that singular one, whom he clung to with desperate need. Clarkan was a turn younger than him, but Lornal didn't care if he looked stupid playing with younger boys. Clarkan liked to read, and liked to take plants and *try* things with them, and...
