KhelirName Pronounced: Kay-leer Appearance: Khelir is just a bit taller than average, with a slightly stocky, although not overweight, frame. She has broad shoulders, muscular arms and legs, and deeply tanned skin, all of which was developed as a result of years working in the outdoors during her Beastcraft apprenticeship. She has very dark hair that looks pitch black indoors and dark brown in the sunlight. Her hair is slightly wavy and looks messy and windswept the moment she steps outdoors. She cuts it short every few months to keep it out of her eyes, which are almond-shaped and a pale shade of gray. Her eyelashes are very long and dark, which is perhaps her only typically feminine feature. Most men would probably not call her "beautiful" or "pretty," but would perhaps diplomatically choose the word "handsome." Personality: Khelir seems shy or just completely cold to people meeting her for the first time. She is not the type who enjoys greeting random strangers, and she is not very fond of small talk or gossip. Her family and acquaintances sometimes joke that because she is used to being around only animals all day, she forgets the proper way to interact with humans. It is true that animals do seem to bring out a softer side to her personality that she keeps closely guarded and locked away much of the time. The sight of a flit or any other kind of pet, or even a wher or herdbeast usually brings an instant smile to her face and she will talk to the animal as though she were greeting an old friend. This is not to say that she is incapable of forming close human friendships, but it can sometimes take a little bit of effort to crack through her shell. Once she gets to know and trust someone, she will usually consider them a friend for life and will even joke around with them, share stories, or comfort them in hard times. History: Khelir was born and grew up at a small cothold called Seydis Hold, where her parents tend ovines and train herder canines. Khelir was a part of the family business as soon as she was old enough, usually following alongside her father, Fyeren, when he woke before sunrise to feed and water the flocks. Her father is a tall, powerful-looking man who rarely says more than he has to. There is no doubt that Khelir picked up many of her social skills from him, although he was never as loving with the animals as she is. Fyeren always viewed the ovines as a way to provide for his family and nothing more. Khelir still has a close, albeit nearly silent, bond with her father to this day, even though her apprenticeship has taken her away from the family farm to a Beastcraft Hall. Information about Khelir's pets Pet Name: River Pet Type: Green Firelizard Appearance: River is a dark shade of forest green that seems to absorb light rather than reflect it. Her underside and face are a slightly lighter shade. Despite being full-grown, she is tiny, dwarfed by most other greens and by any flit of another color. Her legs are slightly short for her body size, but she compensates with a long, nimble tail that helps her firmly cling wherever she wishes to perch. Personality: River is constantly seeking new things to investigate, leading her into trouble more often than not. She is obedient and fairly calm when Khelir is there to supervise her, and is unusually well behaved around other animals, but when left on her own she soon becomes bored and curious about everything. She is an agile and quick flier, but grows tired quickly. Once she uses up all of her energy reserves, she will find a comfortable place, whether it be Khelir's shoulder or some other quiet niche, and sleep like a stone until fully restored. It can be almost impossible to wake her once she settles down for a nap, and the little flit is quick to scold anyone who dares to do so. Information about Khelir's dragon Dragon Name: Valenath Colour: Green Age: 0 Wing (Weyrling Group): None Appearance: Egg - Weaving Pink Egg: Amateur weaving is one of the first things a person might think of as they gaze upon this egg. That does seem like an attempt at making a rather bold and striking cloth. A Gather dress material? A child's piece of clothing? The hands that wove this cloth were definitely shaky. Maybe it wasn't a novice attempt but the last go by an old auntie at the loom. This egg is a pink lover's dream in some ways. The varying shade of the color will please the eye, but why did the weaver add that green? A flower garden mixmatch? No weaver had a hand in this egg and that's a fact. The powers that created this wonder are blameless for it is a mere egg shell and a fascinating one at that. Personality: That strength will be inner and outer, she's not going to be a simpering, moody green given to petulance. Serene will be a word people might use when describing her. She has an air of calm collected poise about her and that too is something that will remain in her personality forever. Valenath not only exudes calmness she'll help promote it in others. She'll have an innate ability to soothe others. It's not magical, nor is it on par with the gold dragon's ability to calm, but it's enough for her to be able to help out in the minor upsets hatchlings deal with from time to time. She also has a wonderful talent in being able to croon others to sleep. Again, this isn't magical, not all will succumb to her crooning, but in connection with her calming tendency she'll be able to help slightly restless hatchlings relax enough to fall asleep. She's a treasure to have among the clutch really and that won't change once she's in a wing.
