KatiaCharacter type: Brat Appearance: Large, dark blue eyes seem to take up most of her pixie features. Her face is surprisingly without roundness for such a young child, and when she smiles, perfect dimples form on her cheeks. Her teeth are baby teeth, small and slanting all over the place, but it doesn't make her smile any less endearing. Fair blonde hair covers her, straight as a whistle and quite fine; she has a small mouth, a thin upper lip, but blessed with a full lower lip that assists in her pouts. All in all, an amazingly cute little girl, with no visible signs of the cause of her physical muteness. Personality: Confident beyond measure, everyone around her exists mainly to love her. Katia delights in sweets, but likes being picked up and cuddled far more. A friendly thing, Katia has no doubt in her mind that anyone who meets her is likely to love her, and will go up to people and demand a hug. Hugs, kisses, and adoration seem to be all she needs to be perfectly happy, which is a good thing, considering how people tend to spoil her shamelessly. Despite being unable to speak, Katia is an expert manipulator of people, changing moods with single hugs and kisses on cheeks, and her favorite seat is on someone's lap. And, of course, she makes sure there are benefits to being on her good side, handing out gestures of affection, and mothering quite well for being such a young thing. She's protective of those who come to "worship" her, as she sees it, and is quite jealous when her "subjects" bestow affection on others. Katia may be friendly and adorable, but she's got a possessive streak - everyone who loves her belongs to her. History: Born completely mute, due to unknown problems in her vocal chords, Katia was the result of a greenrider's flight. Deposited in the creche without fuss, the mute infant was an unexpected load on the workers. Because she was mute, they could not be warned by cries - someone had to be with her at all times. It was lucky that someone stepped up to foster her, willing to go to such lengths for the poor thing. Of course, Katia did not think she was a poor thing, and by the time she was old enough to make her desires known with gestures, she was entirely confident and happy. She returned to the creche after she turned four, being old enough to walk and write, the two things necessary to seek out and get whatever she needed. Perhaps it was her looks, combined with her handicap that made people spoil her so, but whatever it was, Katia liked it. And she liked people as well, often climbing in laps of strangers, demanding people pick her up. The Lower Caverns is HER domain, and Katia loves and believes herself to be loved by everyone who steps inside - even if they don't know her yet.
