Name Pronounced: Gee-ya
Appearance: Standing at 5'10" Gia towers over most women. No matter how hard she tries to hide her height just makes her stand out, an easy target. She has a slender, fine muscled build evident of a life of work. But even with the muscle and the height she still maintains soft curves around her hips and ample bust. Her skin is pale, but she has a skin tone that looks like with the right amount of time in the sun she'd developed a nice tan. But having been from the North and the cold, there's very few months where one would want to sit in the sun and be warm. Her hair is thick, falling to a little past her shoulders in light brown layers. In the right light gold and red high lights stand out in the thick waves. Her face is a slightly founded oval with a small nose and full pink lips. Her eyes are the most remarkable about her. They're hazel with flecks of green within them, but that's not the most remarkable about them. It's what they show. She has very expressive eyes, and though she tends to be quiet, they really show who she is and what she's thinking. There always seems to me a mischievous glint about them, and they show joy just as easily as anger, hurt, or sorrow. They're like the window to her thoughts, so she can't hide much.
Personality: Gia's got spirit, she has fight. She might be quiet, but that comes from Turns of being told children should be seen and not heard, children should obey and speak only when spoken too, from being taught that what you say most likely will end you up in a heap of trouble. It's a survival skill, but she's far from shy. But her eyes show what she's thinking. They show her strength, her fierce independence, her confidence. And that mischievous glint means she'll keep fighting, but in subtle ways to defend herself and those close to her.
History: All Gia has to say is Fort Weyr and the sympathy gates open. She hates it. It's the last thing she wants. She survived it, what in that is sympathy needed for. She was the product of a flight, or so she assumed since all she knew from a young age was the crèche. No family ever visited her, not that she seemed to mind since she was happy there, most of the crèche workers were kind. It wasn't until she hit puberty and wasn't classified as a child anymore that things got rough. She was outspoken and she learned quickly that Fort was not the place for that, especially not from a woman. Bloody noses and black eyes were common but not the worst of it. Not till she started to defend herself and others did the belt become more common and she learned actions were just as bad as words. In an attempt to avoid confrontation she entered the healer craft and spent most of her time helping tend the children in the crèche or in the infirmary. It was there she saw the worst of what could happen, but also those that went there were to injured to cause much harm. This was where Gia saw how cruel an individual could be to their fellow man. She was determined to get out, but without family she had no where else to go.
