AtriCharacter type: Dragonrider Appearance: Atri has very short medium brown hair with reddish highlights in the sun. Her eyes are light brown. She has such short hair that she has been mistaken for a boy more than once. Her skin is somewhat light and she is 5'4" and weighs about 125 pounds. She is kind of clumsy and should be far away from breakable objects. Personality: Family members have joked that accidents just follow Atri around like her little brown flit. She doesn't mind the joking and is pretty friendly except to people who hurt creatures. She gets very angry when someone hurts her flit and has a temper that can lash out quickly. If she could change one thing about herself, it would be her height because she hates being short. Her silly brown flit can always make her laugh. Unlike most girls, she doesn't want to Impress a gold. Atri's favorite colors are blue and green. She wants to Impress a blue the most or a green. In her mind she only really wants a green if it is a good match for her. History: Atri was born in a small hold near Forest Edge, called Forestriver. Her childhood was normal except that she Impressed a brown flit when she was thirteen. It had been her dream to be a dragonrider ever since she learned the Teaching Ballads. When the Hold boys said that girls couldn't be dragonriders, she was horribly upset. She was cleaning the former Harper's room when she found the egg that contained a baby brown firelizard. Once she Impressed Jizo however, all the boys wanted a firelizard, but none could find a clutch of eggs. An older boy was hurting Jizo and she fought him. She was hurt, but the boy came off much the worse for the experience. Atri was overjoyed when she was Searched but none of the boys who'd said girls didn't ride dragons were. She was taken to Arolos by a Searchrider and is now standing for her first clutch. Because she didn't Impress at the Stormstar hatching, Atri is going on the Candidate trip to Arolos Island. Atri broke her arm and found a ruby on the trip. At the Mid-summer Gather, Atri bought an Amicurl kitten. Information about Atri's pets Pet Name: Jizo Pet Type: Brown Firelizard Appearance: He is a dusty brown wth tan wingsails. A rather large flit, Jizo can turn with suprising agility for his size. His tail has several scars from the time he tried to play with a Hold feline and got scratched by it. Several mud brown scars on his legs and neck mark where a Hold boy tried to hurt him after Jizo snatched one of his meatrolls. Jizo is often seen with a now tattered ribbon Atri bought at a Gather as a toy for him. Personality: Jizo will play with anyone or anything that he can find. This has gotten him into many scrapes and Atri has never yet been able to teach Jizo that some people, creatures, and things aren't toys or don't want to play. He's not a bad flit, just full of energy and very playful. He now has a phobia of felines from the time he tried to play with one and got scratched. Atri has to play with him for a while in the mornings so he doesn't try to play with other people. Second Pet Name: Marin Pet Type: Feline Appearance: She is a silver tabby Amicurl kitten Atri bought at the Midsummer Gather. Her fur is semi-long and very soft, almost like a rabbit's. Personality: Marin loves to play with Jizo and is the only feline that he doesn't have hysterics around. When she's older, she would make a good mother because she is a sweet, caring kitty. Information about Atri's dragon Dragon Name: Lonboth Colour: Blue Age: 6 Wing (Weyrling Group): None Appearance: Lonboth's hide is sky blue and looks strangely like it is covered in little bubbles. He's a plump blue, and easy to tease and bully. Tease him about his slowness and he'll just look miserable, tease him physically and he'll fall over himself with clumsiness. He seems rather a pathetic little victim figure - blue, anxious, unable to defend himself - but there's something else there, something more. Personality: Dragon's memories are said to be bad, but Lonboth's is worse than most. Sometimes it seems he can barely hold what he's been told in his head for half a lesson before stumbling and forgetting it - and asking him to remember anything for longer than that is a hopeless task. It'll be gone and he'll look guilty and unhappy, knowing it might have been important and yet unable to grasp it again. His self-confidence will be a major hurdle to get over. Lonboth believes passionately deep down that he is stupid and clumsy and a failure. He believes he is doomed to mess up anything he tries, and because he believes that, he *will* mess it up more often than not. His first flying lesson is likely to be quite literally a flop, in his first swimming lesson he'll sink, and in his first flaming lesson he's likely to get charred. In any class, the WeyrlingMaster will learn to watch Lonboth because *he's* the one where the disaster will start. A kind teacher may manage to coax him into some degree of competance, but a cruel, impatient or even despairing one will easily reduce him to a blithering wreck. He'll get more and more nervous and mess up more and more until eventually he'll have to be asked to leave the lesson before he causes serious problems. Bad though he is at defending himself, Lonboth will not stand by while people hurt him, or something he believes him. He may be shivering with anxiety as he stands against them, terrified of the consequences but he'll do it. He won't back down. Even if it's his own rider, if they're doing something he knows will end in trouble he'll say no. Faranth forbid any of the other dragons try to leave the barracks too early or sneak around without the AWLM's noticing. Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: They may also discover, once Lonboth has gained at least a little self-confidence, that he has a love of plants and what they can do. He would do well Impressed to a DragonHealer, because somehow herbal cures will seem to be the one thing that defy his memory and stay in his brain. He'll be fascinated by the plants, demand to be allowed to go out and collect them, and insist on telling everyone he knows about them until they're bored stupid. Hopefully, it will be enough of a refreshing change that they'll be too polite to say so.
