Character type: Dragonrider
Appearance: Ale’kris stands at a comfortable 6’3” with a wiry frame, muscles toned as one would expect for a dragonrider. His posture varies on the company of the moment and speaks to an ease and confidence that has been hard earned over the past several turns. His warm brown eyes invite the world to come and join in a conversation. He keeps his almost curly dark hair cut to keep out of his eyes and off the back of his neck. His hands look almost delicate compared to many, and as a person who considers himself equal parts Harper and rider, he’s careful about them and the few scars he has are nowhere near them.
Personality: Ale’kris is into people, whether it’s conversing, dancing, comforting or observing, he’s in his element when he’s in the thick of things. He has not met someone he wouldn’t be interested in listening to, though sometimes the interest is more of a fascinated distaste than others. Often he’ll be seen with his violin in his hands or just a small book of paper or hide for him to sketch in while he’s immersed in the world around him. He is inept at disguising how he feels and once he takes a dislike to someone it takes all of his control to keep contempt from his well-trained voice. Early on he was awkward with the dichotomy he felt as a just-impressed rider, but has grown to meld both of his loves, harpering and Trudath into a life that he can only describe as amazing.
History: Ale’kris was born in a fairly obscure hold in the High reaches to a family of farmers that already had several boys to its name. His parents paid little attention to the rough and tumble ways of the older boys with the younger, and tended towards the “boys will be boys” and “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” ways of thinking. (Alekkris decided early on that what doesn’t kill you often fecking hurts and doesn’t necessarily do a damn thing else.) He was illiterate to the age of ten, the Hold didn’t have enough importance to have a Harper there often and his parents weren’t much for studies, or harpers. Despite this, Alekkris had determined that he was going to be one after the first time he saw and, more importantly, heard one at a rare Gather.
Information about Ale'kris's pets
Pet Name: Arrow
Pet Type: Bronze Flit
Appearance: Arrow's bronze tone is considerably lighter to some other flits...to the point where one could almost mistake him for a gold (don't mention it around him though if you cherish the shape of your ears). His skin contains some flashes of the darker bronze that is more common but they can only be seen when the sunlight bounces off of him a certain way. He received his name for the quickness with which he moves... he blurs by so quickly it looks like the passing of a powerful arrow-head.
Personality: Arrow is a very dignified bronze and, like Alekkris, is quick to take offense and defend his position viciously. He LOVES to swim in almost anything water, soup, good Bendan white; you name it he will swim in it given half the chance. Luckily Ale’kris doesn’t mind too much, though there is some good-natured grumbling about how much more oiling the flit needs, and the rider is very glad that Arrow has outgrown most cups.
Information about Ale'kris's dragon
Dragon Name: Trudath
Wing (Weyrling Group): StormHearts
Appearance: Trudath is a warm amber-brown with sandy-brown veins on his wings. Even as a full-grown dragon, he retains a sleek and aerodynamic form that is almost more typical of a smaller color and is, in fact, on the small size for a brown.
Personality: Interested in his surroundings, eager to learn new things and try them, nothing is insurmountable, Trudath just needs to figure out the best way to go about doing it. He’s very much a trial and error learner, which caused Ale’kris to keep a very close eye on him as a dragonet. Trudath kept an equally close eye on Ale’kris though, making sure that he was safe and protected. He guards Ale’kris with a fierce determination from anything that comes his way, but he bows under his rider’s greater experience with people. That protection he extends to any and all who needs it, the underdogs especially, will find themselves an ally with him. Though when actually threatened, the normally calm Trudath will become a loud, threatening force not to be underestimated, even though he is smaller than most browns. He refuses to believe that there are things he cannot do, he learns quickly enough that he will come to the conclusion that he can learn anything and everything. It won't occur to him that perhaps there are just a few things that he isn't designed for. You'll have to hope for a miracle to convince him to quit trying things are beyond his reach.
Weyr of Origin: Arolos
Abilites and weaknesses: Trudath isn't the most trusting of browns, he has no experience in dealing with others besides His. He falters when confronted with situations were he must rely on speech with others. He might be one of the few that actually stutters when speaking with other dragons; the more he finds he needs to say, the worse he speaks. As adorable as the uncertainty is, it frustrates the brown to no end that he can't comfort those he wishes to when it is actually needed.
